Wheelchair Project - "A Gift of Mobility"
wheel.jpgWith an average cost of $80 for a wheelchair and $120 for a tricycle, SAP-VN has assisted many children who could not receive orthopedic surgery due to servere physical disability.  With a wheelchair, they can become more mobile independently. With a wheelchair or a tricycle, these children can go to school or even go to work by themselves.

ortho.jpgWith average costs ranging between $200 to $250 per case, SAP-VN has assisted many disabled children to become more mobile and to become less of a burden on their already overburdened families. A gift to a needy child in this project is indeed a gift of life. 

Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery- "A Gift of Sight"
cataract_eye_small Cataract occurs with age and is a condition in which the lens of the eyes becomes clouded and vision becomes obscured. Fortunately, cataract is treatable with surgery which is highly efficacious in improving and restoring vision.  With an average cost of less than 50 USD per eye surgery, you are able to give the precious gift of  sight to a cataract patient, who otherwise would have no access to medical care and treatment.

About SAP-VN

SAP-VN (Social Assistance Program For Vietnam) is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-religious humanitarian organization based in Garden Grove, California. Founded in 1992 with a  non-paid staff and volunteers under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Services, SAP-VN's primary objective is to provide direct relief to poor and needy people, especially orphans and handicapped children, mainly in health care, education and social welfare.

Cleft-lip/palate Surgery

Cleft-lip/ Cleft-Palate Surgery- "A Smile for a Child"
clip-plate_small Cleft lip and palate are birth defects in which the tissues of the lip and palate don't form properly during fetal development.  In the united States, clefts occur in 1 in 700 to 1,000 live births, making it the most common major birth defect.  The good news is that both cleft lip and cleft palate are treatable.  Most kids can have reconstructive surgery within the first 12 to 18 months of life to correct the defect and significantly improve facial appearance.

Classroom Construction

Classroom Construction - "A Place to Learn"
edu.jpgOvercrowded classrooms have become a major concern in many remote areas of Vietnam. In an effort to help alleviate this issue, SAP-VN started this project to help construct or refurbish classrooms in these areas. The cost ranges from $3000 to $4000 per classroom.
